Reviewing the Military Court Act

July 1, 2011: hearing on the case filed by Bhuwan Prasad Niraula, Prem Chandra Rai and Bhakti Shahi that the military court could not delivered justice to the soldier unjustly fired by his boss, a special bench of Chief Justice of Supreme Court Khilraj Regmi, Justices such as Kalyan Kumar Shrestha and Krishna Prasad Upadhyaya has instructed the government to constitute a committee on reforming the Military Court Act in consultations with the human rights activists as the current Military Court Act has made the army the investigator, prosecutor and judge going against the principles and norms of justice. The Military Court Act must be consistent with the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007.
