Prachanda Taking Issues Of Federalism To Streets

On November 30, 2009, speaking at a function held by Limbuwan Morcha to celebrate the national festival of Kirant Limbu, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that his party has to take the issue of federalism to the street, as other political parties have been conspiring against the federal structure of the country; and urged all to unite and act for setting up federal Nepal. He also accused the government of acting against the federal structure of the country

At the same time, the standing committee of the UCPN-Maoist has been working on completing the delineation of the boundary of the federal states to be announced soon by the UCPN-Maoist. However, spokesman for the UCPN-Maoist has said that his party would interact with other political parties on the demarcation of the states and their names, and the Constituent Assembly will take the final decision on these matters.
