Asia Needs to Lead the World

issue 43, October 25, 2009

By Kathmandu Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On October 20, 2009, Chairman UCPN-Maoist has briefed the officials of his party about his China visit in a meeting held at the party office in Kathmandu. Prachanda visited China at the invitation of the Communist Party of China, and had a meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao and other high level Chinese officials including the Prime Minister.

Informing to the reporters about the Prachanda’s China visit, the spokesman for the UCPN-Maoist Dinanath Sharma has said that the Chinese leaders have told Prachanda that so far the USA has been leading the world, now it is the turn of Asia to lead the world; to this end, peace and prosperity are necessary in the region. So, the Chinese leaders want peace with India not confrontation.

Other newspapers have reported that the Government of Nepal has stabbed India permitting the Chinese to install an earthquake monitoring station on the foothills of Mount Everest; it was originally a joint plan of India and China.
