Leaders Of Ten Political Parties Ask Madhav Nepal To Resign

May 11, 2010: leaders of ten political parties including the UCPN-Maoist having representation in the Constituent Assembly have asked Prime Minister Madhav Nepal to leave the Prime Ministerial seat for paving the way to break the current political deadlock.

At a joint press conference held at the UCPN-Maoist' party office, Peris Danda, the leaders of the ten political parties have demanded the resignation of Madhav Nepal for paving the way for forming a new consensus government and breaking the current political deadlock.

The UCPN-Maoist leaders have called the meeting of all political leaders that are for federalism, republic, secularism, democracy, social justice, peace and constitution and have formed a common platform to stand on institutionalizing these things. They have also come to the conclusion that the current Madhav government is not for completing the peace process, writing a new constitution, federalism, secular state, republic and so on.

The leaders of political parties such as Madhesi People’s Rights Forum-Nepal, CPN-Unified, Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch, Nepali Janata Dal, Rastriya Janamukti Party, Churebhavar Rastriya Ekata Samaj, Dalit Janajati Party, Nepa Rastriya Party and Nepal Sadhbhawana Party have attended the meeting called by the UCPN-Maoist.
