Kathmandu: Speaking at the press conference held in Kathmandu on July 23, 2017 to brief the media about the decisions of the Central Committee meeting of his party, chairman of Maoist-Center Prachanda has said that his party has decided to stand for a directly elected chief executive, and for changing the electoral system.

Prachanda has said that his party has decided to stand for the directly elected president at least for five years so that s/he could work on development for the period without any problems of getting removed from office.

Concerning the electoral system, Prachanda has said that his party has decided to stand for entirely the proportional representation system means political parties represent in the legislature depending on the number of votes parties have received.

The current electoral system has been very expensive, sincere and poor candidates have no chances of getting elected as money plays a significant role in the elections, Prachanda has said.
