Kathmandu: Speaking at the interaction the Sino-Nepal Media Society held in Kathmandu yesterday to mark the 62nd anniversary of setting up of the bilateral diplomatic relation between Nepal and China, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that Nepal would benefit highly from the participation in One Belt One Road (OBOR) President Xi Jinping has initiated worldwide in 2013.

 

Minister Basnet said the OBOR would enable Nepal to take benefits from all its components including connectivity and economic integration; and it also enhances to bring together the people of both countries, and surely it enhances to tie the people by culture, and religion, according to the news in therisingnepal.org.np.

 

However, China has to open up 11 entry points on the border between China and Nepal yet so that the folks living along the border would be able to take the economic and cultural benefits, said Minister Basnet, according to the news

 

Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the participation in OBOR in Kathmandu on May 12, 2017.

 

Speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong said that the Chinese government always stood up for development and political stability in Nepal; and China has been a largest investor in Nepal, the news stated.
