Anniversary Of Prithvi Narayan Shah

Issue 03, January 16, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

January 10, 2011: the regressive force represented by Modnath Prasit and his colleagues have been advocating for celebrating the anniversary of the Prithvi Narayan on the pretext of Prithvi Narayan uniting small principalities into a single large Nepal but these guys are trying to please the Shahs for their own interest to meet.

If these guys belong to one of the families of the Kirtipurians that have become the victims of Prithvi Narayan Shah they will know how hard to forget the atrocity of Prithvi Narayan. One of the Kirtipurian soldiers has saved the life of Prithvi Narayan in the belief that a soldier should not kill the king. Instead of being grateful to such morally great soldiers of Kirtipur, Prithvi Narayan has cut off the noses and ears of those soldiers after he has finally won the kingdom after nine-time unsuccessful attempts.

Mr. Prasit and his colleagues can celebrate the day of the nose and ear cutter but the victims of the cruel acts of Prithvi Narayn will never forget his wrong deeds.

The irony is that the leader of the so-called democratic NC party and Minister for Culture Minendra Rijal has claimed that the late king Prithvi Narayan Shah was a practitioner of democracy following the wishes of the people. If it is so why his party has removed the constitutional monarchy from its statute and voted for the republic. A bunch of other guys that don’t either know the history well or deliberately ignore it advocating for celebrating the anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah the nose and ear cutter.
