Peace Minister Meeting with Armed Groups

On Monday, November 17, 2008, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Janardan Sharma quietly held informal meetings with leaders of armed groups in Terai, southern Nepal. Minister Sharma is the chief of the talks-team set up by the Government of Nepal. Minister Sharma refused to disclose the matters he had discussed with the leaders of the armed groups to the reporters; however, he said that his meetings with the leaders of the armed leaders were positive development toward the peace process.
