Government Calls Off Full-fledged Budget Through Presidential Decree

Issue 47, November 18, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

November 12, 2012: the coalition government of the UCPN-Maoist and the UDMF has postponed to present the full-fledged budget to the head of state supposed to present today, as the head of state has told the Finance Minister to put the budget on hold for some time until the opposition coalition of the NC and CPN-UML agrees on it.

The head of state should put to an end to building a consensus on the budget, as the opposition coalition has been not for such thing but has been for grabbing power no matter what would happen to the nation. The opposition coalition wants to sacrifice the welfare of the 30-million Nepalis for getting the power. The opposition coalition of the NC and CPN-UML has been bloodthirsty; the opposition coalition has been certainly bring another conflict means Nepalis kill each other for making some leaders powerful.

Surely, going to polls would have been the best policy on following the constitution and the rule of law but the opposition coalition has been so sure of losing any election that the leaders of the opposition coalition see only alternative left to them is to block the budget anyhow.

Repeatedly telling the government to build a consensus on the budget for the FY 2012, which has been impossible, the head of state has been cooperating with the opposition coalition of the NC and the CPN-UML on creating an environment conducive to the opposition to tear down the current legitimate government only to be replaced with the illegitimate one of the opposition.

The meeting of the leaders of the UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML was held today afternoon but none of the opposition leaders was ready to listen to the Chairman of UPCN-Maoist, but insisted on changing the government for their sake. The opposition leaders believe that their street protests would break the current political deadlock.
