Issue 03, January 17, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

January 10, 2010, Chairman of Constituent Assembly (CA) Subash Newang has informed the legislature about the two members of the Constituent Assembly: Matrika Prasad Yadav and Jagat Prasad Yadav vacating their positions following the rules 143 and 144 of the CA Regulations of 2065. Both have been the CA members nominated by the then CPN-Maoist currently the UCPN-Maoist following the votes the party has received in the elections for the CA. UCPN-Maoist has expelled them from the party and has informed the Chairman of the CA that they no more enjoy the membership of the party so terminate their membership of the CA.

Matrika Yadav has claimed that he belongs to the CPN-Maoist that has nominated him to the member of the CA whereas the UCPN-Maoist formed merging CPN-Maoist with CPN Unity Centre-Mashal is a new party that does not concern him.

However, the Chairman of the CA has paved the way for the UCPN-Maoist to nominate its two persons to the members of the CA.
