Foreign Visits Of Madhav Nepal Hurting

Issue 49, December 05, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

November 29, 2010:  Only a few days has past since Madhav Nepal has returned from Russia after attending the Tiger Summit intended for the personnel of Departments of Forest and Livestock not for the Prime Minister.

Now, Madhav Nepal is set to visit Cambodia and Brussels at the invitations of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, and of European Commission President, José Manuel Barroso according to the news report posted by Himalayan News Service on its website on November 27, 2010.

Talking to the Kantipur FM on Monday morning, November 29, 2010, House Speaker Nemwang has said that talks for building a consensus on the political matters will come to a standstill because officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal is leaving Nepal for Cambodia on Tuesday, November 30, and Chairman of CPN-UML is leaving Nepal for South Africa on Wednesday, December 01, even though the leaders are supposed to sit together and sort out the problems, nepalnews.com writes.

In view of the political crisis in Nepal and of the officiating status of Madhav Nepal, the foreign heads of state and government should stop inviting Madhav Nepal as the Prime Minister of Nepal at all. Madhav Nepal is simply officiating the office of Prime Minister in absence of an elected Prime Minister. He has been blocking the election to a new Prime Minister to prolong his stay in the office. So, Nepalis will appreciate heads of state and government not to invite Madhav Nepal any more and cancel all the invitations made to him in the interest of Nepalese people.
