Fake Attorneys In Nepal

 

Speaking at the reception held in honor of the Chief Justice in Biratnagar on Sunday, August 28, 2016, Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Nepal Mrs. Sushila Karki said that some fake attorneys have been active in Kathmandu; they have even set up a syndicate controlling all the legal cases making the real lawyers dependent on them. She has said that she has found the mafia has been very strong; it is necessary the entire legal professionals to be active to make the group a failure. She has said that even though such a mafia has been active in Kathmandu; it has not been so in Biratnagar, the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of August 29, 2016 stated.

 

 

DPM Nidhi In Parliament

 

Deputy Prime Minister holding the portfolio of Home Ministry presented the accounts of his India visit to the parliament on Sunday, August 28, 2016. He said that he visited India starting on August 18, 2016, and ending on August 23, 2016. During his visit, he met with his counterpart, the prime minister, the president and the opposition leaders. He also presented the invitations of the prime minister and the president to the Indian prime minister and the president to visit Nepal. He presented the special letter of the Nepali prime minister to the Indian counterpart, the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ on August 29, 2016 stated.

 

The opposition leaders particularly the former DPM Bhim Rawal has been demanding the disclosure of the content of the letter the Nepali prime minister has written to his Indian counterpart, and has been charging that the letter must have mentioned the amendment to the Constitution. Mr. Rawal had been opposing the Prime Minster sending a special envoy to India.

 

DPM Nidhi has made it clear to Mr. Rawal that the letter the Nepali prime minister has written to the Indian counterpart contained only the description of the latest political events in Nepal nothing else.

 

 

Pollution in Kathmandu

 

Speaking to the reporter of the ‘gorkhapatra’, the Director General of the Department of Environment Mr. Ganeshkumar Shrestha has said that the Kathmandu is the most polluted city the national and international media have been publicizing has been entirely false; some air monitors have monitor the air in the smoky areas, and have reported the worst air condition; it does not mean the entire city has the same quality of air. He also has said that the department is installing 56 air quality-monitoring devices in Kathmandu and across the country, according to the interview of the director general published in ‘gorkhapatra’ on August 29, 2016.

 

Concerning the water pollution in the Bagmati River and other rivers in Kathmandu, the director general said that the 85% of the pollutants had been the plastic bags, and surely, the sewage dumped in it; the department has been informing through the public information system on the prohibition of the use of the plastic bags; once the public become conscious of the adverse impact of plastic bags on the human lives, the use of plastic bags will be stopped.
