Chairman Of IECM Visits Election Commission

October 25, 2013: Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khilraj Regmi visited the Election Commission yesterday to acquire the information on the preparations for holding elections on November 19, 2013.

 

The Election Commission informed Chairman Khilraj Regmi, Ministers and Chief Secretary about the preparations made for the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections slated for November 19, according to the news posted on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

 

'We invited the Chairman, Ministers and Chief Secretary at our office, Kantipath, and apprised them in detail of the election preparations,' said Chief Election Commissioner Neelkantha Upreti.

 

The Chairman and the ministers received the information on the ballot paper printing, security situation, transportation of electoral materials to different places, election observation, ink, updated voter lists and so on.

 

Chief Election Commissioner Upreti stated that the EC invited the government to report the complete information on the activities of the EC on holding the elections.

 

Supply of election materials to 1,017 polling stations has been intensified; and the voters would receive the identity card soon, he said, and the printing of ballot papers for the direct CA election would complete on October 31.
