Prime Minister’s Visit to Mustang
By Kathmandu Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
Prime Minister Madhav Nepal with a helicopter-load of his sycophants flew off to the northern ancient frontier state called Mustang on October 17, 2009 ostensibly for meeting with the Mustangi Raja called Jigme Parval Bista but really for seeing the local anti-China activities in person. Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has sent his Home Minister Bhim Rawal and then Minister of State for Home Rijwan Ansari to the area for understanding the real situation. Ultimately, following the insistence of the Chinese ambassador in Nepal Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has visited the area to see the activities for himself.
Anti-China activities have been intensifying in the area called Lomanthang since Madhav Nepal has become Prime Minister. Lomanthang has been a restricted area for foreigners for quite some time in the past, as it is an area bordering with Tibet. Only, recently, the government has opened it to foreigners. Tibetans could easily move back and forth between Nepal and Tibet in this area.
Recently Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood has gone to this area apparently for the high mountain trekking but really for seeing the situation in the area personally. However, His Excellency Sood has to come back due to the high altitude sickness according to the official report published in the local newspapers but one newspaper has reported that he has come back after the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal has known that the Indian envoy has been on the way to Lomanthang.
It has been clear that not only the Indians have been whipping Prime Minister Madhav Nepal but also the Chinese have been doing the same to the poor unelected rather defeated in two constituencies Prime Minister Madhav Nepal.
