Only CPN-UML Progressive And Democratic

February 10, 2013: speaking at the opening function of the second conference of the Rapti Zonal Samparka Committee at his party headquarters, Balkhu in Kathmandu yesterday, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has said that only the CPN-UML is progressive and democratic party in Nepal. The NC is a status quo party; it has no progressive agenda whereas the UCPN-Maoist has engaged in violence, according to ‘gorkhapatra’ of today. Chairman Khanal also said that the country could move forward only through the democratic path the CPN-UML has followed. Mr. Khanal said that he was happy, as the UCPN-Maoist also had been following the democratic path adopted by the CPN-UML.
Speaking at the same function yesterday, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal said that the totalitarian tendency of the ruling UCPN-Maoist would be defeated through the street protests, as the incumbent government has surrendered nationalism and national interests to stay in power, so, the time has come to show the door to the Maoists, according to the news posted on thehimalayantimes.com today.
Chairman Khanal needed to flip the pages of the ‘Oxford Dictionary’ to find out the meanings of ‘democracy’ and ‘totalitarian,’ as he naively said that the democratically elected government was a totalitarian and could be removed by the street protests.
