February 11, 2013: All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) affiliated to the CPN-Maoist, and All Nepal Teachers Organization of the CPN-Maoist have forcefully shut down around 600 schools in the Lalitpur district yesterday. Chairman of ANNISU-R Sharad Rasaili said that they were protesting against the use of Indian curriculum and textbooks in the schools and demanding reinstatement of three teachers sacked from DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School, Jawalakhel, according to HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE of yesterday. Meanwhile, Chairman of Guardian’s Association of Nepal Suprabhat Bhandari regretted the closure of schools saying it was unfortunate to shut down all schools for meeting the demands that concerned with some schools in the district.

Cadres of the NC, CPN-UML and Rastriya Shakti Prajatantra Party enforced the shutdown of hotels, shops, stores, and educational institutions adversely hitting the regular lives of the common folks in Diktel yesterday. They were protesting against the forcibly removal of the protesters attempting to block the entry into the office of the Chief District Officer, according HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE of yesterday.

Political leaders have been smart enough to unleash their cadres to smash the rights of common folks to work, do business and travel without obstruction to force the government to meet their demands. Anybody could imagine how these political leaders having no respect for the rights of others would run the administration. So, it is not surprise that the political leaders could rule the country with impunity thanks to the inability of the civil society to put such leaders in jail for their crimes against humanity.
