One Hundred Days Of Bhattarai Government

December 10, 2011: in a press conference held in Kathmandu yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Narayankaji Shrestha holding the portfolio of the spokesman for the government of Nepal has briefed the reporters on the progress made by the government during the last 100 days, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

Spokesman Shrestha has said that the conclusion of the peace and constitution writing process and building a political consensus on this matter was the mission of the government. Spokesman Shrestha has said the completion of regrouping of the Maoist combatants, formation of the State Restructuring Commission, formation of a taskforce on collecting data on the wounded and disabled combatants and recommendation for their proper rehabilitation, distribution of relief package to those who lost lives during the people’s war and formation of the taskforce on collecting data on the disappeared, wounded, disabled and displaced during the different movements such as People’s Movement, People’s War, Madhesh Movement, Tharu Movement and Nationalities’ movement have been the achievement of the government in the political sector.

The spokesman has claimed the international support for peace and constitution particularly of the neighboring countries such as China and India as the achievement of the government. He has mentioned the upcoming visit of the Chinese Prime Minister to Nepal, and the visit of Nepalese Prime Minister to India as the indicators of the support.

Spokesman Shrestha has said that the launching of ‘Hello Sarkar’ to address the public complaints has been another success of the government, as it has given good results to control the corruption in the administration, and repeated the commitment of the government to the zero tolerance of corruption.

Spokesman Shrestha has said that a remarkable progress has been made in the economic sector, as revenue collection has increased by 17 percent, inflation and liquidity crisis have been eased, and the government prepares for declaring 2012 a year of investment in Nepal. The government of Nepal has signed off the BIPPA and DTAA with the government of India making an environment conducive to foreign investments in Nepal, spokesman Shrestha has said
