One-month Progress Made By Government
By KTM Metro Reporter
April 16, 2013: the Interim Election Council of Ministers (IECM) set up by the four major political parties such as UCPN-Maoist, NC, CPN-UML and UDMF has made public the progress it has made in one month of its existence. It has made amendments to election-related laws, and some other laws that the president put on hold during the time of former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai.
The IECM must have been a half way to the elections to a CA but it has made progress in amending a few election-related laws. The IECM has not even announced the date for holding elections. It should have set the date for elections a day after the sworn-in ceremony performed to the Chairman of IECM. That has not happened.
However, the IECM takes pride in publicly announcing insignificant progress it has made in a month. It is a shame on IECM. The Chairman of IECM should know a month is a long time.
If the Chairman of IECM and his ministers are for attending different events and making public statements not related to their job descriptions, the IECM would not hold elections even in a year. Mr. Regmi would go down in the history of Nepal as the most inept man.
