New Trekking Route Opened In Baglung

December 29, 2013: the Tourism Office Pokhara has allocated Rs. 1.5 million to open up the trekking route to Lek Ghumte: the highest point in the Baglung district. The six-kilometer trekking route has been under construction since the past fiscal year and is to be completed this year, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonilne.com’.
The new budget will be used to construct tourist-friendly steps for 350 meters from Teuba to Upallo Deurali in Harichaur VDC and complete the track of 810 meters from Upallo Deurali to Ghumte, said Chairperson of the Galkot-Ghumte Tourism Development Center.
Meanwhile, a survey has been carried out to construct another trekking route up to Kotmaidan of Hatiya-5. The area is home to the temple of God Khadak, and the historical place called Galkot. Every year a religious festival is held at the Kotmaidan to celebrate the Chaite Dashain and is expected to become a source of attraction for domestic and foreign tourists, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonlin.com.’
