Shutdowns elsewhere In Nepal

May 3, 2012: the United Brahmin-Chhetri Society-Nuwakot has enforced the shutdown in the northern district Nuwakot Thursday demanding no community be discriminated following the ethnic-based provinces in a new constitution, and the state restructuring following the geography and class and not on ethnic lines ‘The Himalayan Times’ reports today.
Similarly, the Kochila State Struggle Committee has enforced a shutdown in the eastern Nepal Thursday demanding the Kochila State incorporating the Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari districts.
The Far-west Ekata Samaj and the Samyukta Lotantrik Paribesh has enforced the western Nepal shutdown for seventh day today protesting the UCPN-Maoist’s proposal for dividing some parts of Kanchanpur and Kailali and include them in the Tharuwan federal state ‘The Himalayan Times’ reports.
The Tharu Struggle Committee has enforced the Dang shutdown on Wednesday demanding the guarantee of federal units with Tharu identity while federalizing the country in the new constitution ‘The Himalayan Times’ reports.
