Honoring Martyrs On The Martyr’s Day
By KTM Metro Reporter
January 22, 2013: Member secretary of the weeklong Martyr's Day Main Celebration Committee Sanat Kumar Thapa has asked the media houses, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Nepal Scout, district education offices and others for support to make the martyrs' day celebration a success, according to the RSS news on thehimalayantimes.com today.
I worship the martyrs that have faced the cruel Rana regime in 1942, and chose the death by hanging or by firing rather than giving in to the apparently mighty Rana regime, and other martyrs that had sacrificed their lives for removing the succeeding despotic rulers. I would not have a chance of getting education but would have been robbed by the Ranas if the martyrs had not sacrificed their luxurious lives in early 1940s.
Similarly, all Nepalis would not have chance of at least asking to be included in the state mechanisms if martyrs that have sacrificed their lives to end the exclusive rule of the monarchy supported by the so-called parliamentary parties. However, the so-called parliamentary parties claiming to be the democrats and repeatedly saying not compromising on the democratic principles and norms but going against every principle and norm of democracy doing everything possible to grab the power and keep most of the people out of the state mechanism if possible. The current opposition protest movement is a case in point to finish off the federalism and federal democratic republic.
