Students Against Rise In Prices Of Petroleum Products

December 7, 2010: the students of the Pashupati Campus have come out against the price rise of petroleum products imposed by the officiating Government of Madhav Nepal third time during his term of the office of Prime Minister. His Finance Minister has imposed additional taxes on the petroleum products. Then, the state-run Nepal Oil Corporation in turn increased the prices of petroleum products on Monday, December 6, 2010.
The students have closed the areas in and around Mitrapark, Chabahil, and Gaushala demanding the immediate rollback of the price rise of the petroleum products. They have set fire on one of the state-owned vehicles.
Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the price of cooking gas by Rs 75 per 15 kg cylinder, of petrol Rs 4 per liter and of diesel Rs 3 per liter making the prices of cooking gas, petrol and diesel Rs 1325, Rs 88 and Rs 68.50 respectively.
