Issue 07, February 12, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

February 12, 2012: Speaking at a function held to mark the 23rd Anniversary of the Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that corruption has been flourishing under the protection of the political leaders; thus the source itself has been murky; so, the downstream could not be clean, ‘gorkhapatra’ of today writes.

The prime minister has said that political leaders should be honest to maintain discipline in their respective party, to transform and reform the institutions of the country, and then if all the concerned bodies follow the rule of law, corruption can be controlled, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today quotes the prime minister.

He has said that economic development of the nation and poverty alleviation would not be possible without controlling corruption, so, all stakeholders should join hands to control corruption. “The civil society, media, political parties and private sectors should jointly work to end corruption. Corruption control is a duty of all sectors and no one has the freedom to promote it," ‘The Rising Nepal’ quotes the prime minister.
