Chief Priest Of Pshupati Quits For Personal Reasons

September 29, 2013: the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has said that the Mulbhatta means the chief priest of the Pashupati temple, Mahabaleshworam has quit the office for personal reasons The chief priest has submitted his resignation on July 22 and the PADT has circulated it to the Chairman of the PADT and the Minister for Culture for its approval after holding discussion at the meeting of board of directors, according to the RSS news posted on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

 

Member Secretary of PADT Dr. Govinda Tondon said that there was a provision for the resignation of the chief priest, and for acceptance of the resignation following the approval of the patron also Chairman of the Council of Ministers.

 

Following the regulation of PADT, the chief priest and other priests retire after reaching the 65 years of age.

 

The chief priest has been performing the worships at the temple for the past 22 years. The PADT has made arrangements for one chief priest and three priests at the Pashupati temple and one priest at Basuki temple to perform regular worships.

 

The PADT has made been paying Rs. 225,000 salaries per month to the chief priest and Rs. 160,000 to other priests.
