On January 11, 2010, an unidentified gunman has attempted on the life of the assistant Chief District Officer of the Parsa district killing his bodyguard on the spot challenging the special security plan of Home Minister Bhim Rawal. Adding 16,000 security men to the regular Nepal Police, Home Minister Bhim Rawal has not been able to protect even his district administrator not to mention the common folks. So, Home Minister Bhim Rawal’s special security plan has been only for earning commissions according to the experts.
Home Minister Bhim Rawal has not brought the killers of the cadres of the opposition party in Eastern Hill District called Terahthum. His party cadres have killed the Maoists’ cadres a fortnight ago provoking the Maoists to shut down the district for an indefinite period causing tremendous inconvenience to the common folks in the district.
If the Home Minister Bhim Rawal were a morally strong person he would have resigned from the Ministry and have gone to do something that he could do better than the job of a Home Minister.
