Majority for forming a new government

Issue 21, May 24, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On the afternoon of May 17, 2009, the CPN-UML has submitted the signatures of 350 members of parliament assuring the majority support for the joint government of the CPN-UML and NC. The MPRF has ultimately supported the joint government. However, the unconstitutional act of the President might be the stumbling block to the formation of a joint government, as the Maoist parliamentarians are determined to block the parliamentary session until the President rectifies his unconstitutional step.
