Follow rule of Law Says President

Issue 48, November 29, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On November 26, 2009, addressing a function held at the presidential residence in Kathmandu to confer the ‘akshar brahma’ honor to litterateurs and social workers, President Ram Baran Yadav has said that everyone needs to think first s/he is a Nepali then only needs to question where s/he lives, and all Nepalis need to protect the nation and follow the rule of law.

The irony is that the President not following the rule of law has pushed the country to the current political deadlock. Only his resignation could break the deadlock and save the nation from political instability. However, the President has been standing as a wall even after so much of political outburst. The President is solely responsible for the political deadlock and for any outcomes of this deadlock even though the unprincipled leaders of the 18 political parties are equally responsible for it.

At the same time, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda and his deputy Prakash have met with the President on the evening of November 26, 2009 to ascertain the possible outlet of the current political deadlock according to the news aired by the State-run radio Nepal.
