Committee on Save ‘Sajha’ Publication

Issue 37, September 13, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On September 8, 2009, the ‘Committee on Save ‘Sajha’ Publication’ has said that the government has contracted the jobs of printing and distributing textbooks to the private sector under the pressure of the donors; it will affect not only the authors of the textbooks but also the parents or guardians.

The association of the owners of the private printing press has welcomed the government’s decision on contracting the printing and distributing of textbooks to the private sector.
In the past, students and parents have suffered a lot from not getting the textbooks even months after the beginning of the academic year, as the ‘Sajha Publication’ could not print textbooks and distribute them on time.
