Prachanda hints at polarization of political parties
A day after Nepali Congress decided to stand by its decision on not implementing the resolutions passed by the special session of the Interim Legislature, Maoist chairman hinted at the further polarization of the political parties according to the news report of the Nepalnews.com ia Nov 14 07.
The news report further stated that on Wednesday morning, November 14, 2007, speaking at a program held by the Maoist affiliated Revolutionary Journalists Association (RJA) in Ghorahi of Dang, Far-western Nepal, Prachanda said the reluctance of the government to implement the resolutions passed by the Interim Legislature would change the political scenario of the country leading to further polarization. He blamed the Nepali Congress for not being serious to the peace process.
He made his party's position clear stating that holding the election for a constituent assembly is less importance than declaring Nepal a republic. "Holding constituent assembly elections is impossible without announcing republic first," he said.
