Marking Seventh Day Called Fulpati Of Dashain

October 22, 2012: today, the state has marked the seventh day of Dashain marking two events: one at Tundikhel another at the ancient palace. 

At Tundikhel in Kathmandu, the Nepal Army held a special show following the tradition. Nepalese soldiers demonstrated rapid firing, volley firing, group salvo firing and individual firing. Soldiers fired gun and canon salvoes and canon salvoes in succession in celebration, according to RSS news ports. Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shamser Rana presented flags to the ten companies that performed march-past on the occasion. 

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Vice President Parmananda Jha, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, Chief Justice Khilaraj Regmi, ministers, chiefs of diplomatic missions and high-ranking government officials watched the show and the Fulpati feu-de-joie held by the Nepali Army at the army pavilion in Tundikhel today. 

Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shamser Rana welcomed the President upon arrival at Tundikhel; the Nepal Army contingent presented a guard of honor to the President. 

On the other side of Kathmandu, a platoon of an ancient Nepalese army called Gurujuya palton escorted a pot of holy water, and auspicious plants such as fresh banana plant, green sugarcane plants, fresh ginger plants, and other items in a traditional stretcher called ‘doli’ carried by two men on a shoulder pole from Jamal to the Dashainghar in the ancient palace to offer Goddess Bhagavati.
