Swiss House Speaker Meets With Nepalese Counterpart And Others

November 02, 2010: Speaker of National Council of Switzerland Pascale Bruderer Wyss has been in Nepal at the invitation of the Nepalese Speaker, and on Monday, November 01, 2010 met with the Nepalese counterpart and other leaders of different political parties and have talked about the peace process, constitution writing and the Swiss assistance to Nepal, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of November 02, 2010 writes.
In the meeting with Nepalese Speaker Subash Nembang, they have agreed on the continuity of deep rooted and long relationship between the people and governments of the two friendly countries.
"Nepal’s peace process is making a significant headway in a short span of time. We have to bring the ongoing peace process to a logical conclusion and we are working hard to that end. We deeply appreciate the support of Switzerland for facilitating our nationally-driven peace process," ‘The Rising Nepal’ quotes Nembang telling Pascale in the meeting.
Swiss Speaker has also met with officiating Deputy Prime Minister holding the portfolio of Minister of Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala. After the meeting, Koirala has said that they have talked about the bilateral relationship of the two countries. Koirala has further said that the Swiss government is serious about the peace process and was willing to help the Government of Nepal in it. Koirala has also said that the NC needs to pull out its prime ministerial candidacy to complete the peace process and the constitution writing; to this end, the NC has been in a dialogue with UCPN-Maoist.
