Issue 18, May 2, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

May 1, 2010: leaders of the three major political parties such as UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML have been sitting at the marathon meetings to reach consensus politics but they have not been able to reach at a common understanding to break the current political deadlock.

UCPN-Maoist leaders have been saying that the current Madhav government has been in the way to the consensus politics so it should go for any political understand to reach; however, the NC leaders have been saying that the current government will stay on in the position and the UCPN-Maoist leaders need to join it to make a consensus government.

Political analysts believe that some leaders of the NC and CPN-UML are for going head-on collision with the UCPN-Maoist and want to bring the political situation similar to the situation in Kyrgyzstan where recently, the public has chased off the elected president and put an interim government in place.
