August 4, 2013: Chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya along with general secretary Dev Gurung went to see president of NC Sushil Koirala at the latter’s residence in Maharajgunj yesterday, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

President Koirala urged chairman CPN-Maoist Vaidhya to participate in the upcoming elections to the Constituent Assembly otherwise Chairman Vaidhya would lose the people’s mandate.

Chairman Vaidhya in turn suggested President of NC Koirala to build a consensus on political matters before holding the elections scheduled for November 19, the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com quoted general secretary Dev Gurung as saying. Chairman Vaidhya also proposed a government of political parties to be formed through building a consensus among all the political parties.

Speaking at a news conference held in Kathmandu yesterday this morning, Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-Nepal) Kamal Thapa has said that leaders of the three major parties and the Madhesi Front have no intention to make the agitating political parties participate in the election, and in such a situation the President should call the dissenting parties to talks, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

Mr. Thapa ruled out the possibility of an alliance with the CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Vaidhya. "Our party and Vaidhyaji's party have different values and there could be no collaboration with that party when the issue has not even been discussed."  However, the two parties should collaborate to launch a struggle.

Leaders of indigenous communities have spoken out against the downsizing of the upcoming Constituent Assembly by reducing the number of seats under the proportional representation. They also have said that decreasing the seats under the proportional representation would curtail the representation of the marginalized communities, sex, class and region, according to the RSS news posted on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’
