CPN-Maoist Taking Talks And Protest Together

September 16, 2013: talks between the 33-party front headed by the CPN-Maoist and the four-party political party mechanism including the Federal Democratic Front and the Federal Social Party have started off on Friday in the presence of the president and the vice-president, and continued on Sunday without any conclusive results, as the CPN-Maoists have continued to repeat their demands for the resignation of the chairman from the position of the chief justice, and for postponing the election date. The talks continue today, too.
At the same time, the cadres of the 33-party front and particularly of the CPN-Maoist have terrorized the common folks in the eastern terai and in the hills in the name of protesting against the elections to a new constituent assembly. They have closed the businesses of the common folks but the government has done nothing to stop it.
The four-party political mechanism leaders have been impotent as they have been just mute spectators of the terrors launched by the cadres of the 33-party front to protest against the elections to a new CA. Either the four-party political mechanism should be able to tackle the cadres terrorizing the people or should meet their demands. They should not be the bystanders of the sufferings of the common folks due to the terror launched by the cadres of the 33-party front.
The CPN-Maoist leaders label the terrorizing the common folks for forcing the four-party political mechanism to stop the elections to a new CA as the peaceful protest. Where is the peace when the common folks have to go hungry as they could not go to work for bread due to the forcibly imposed shutdowns by the cadres of the CPN-Maoist?
