Victims Of Killer Elephant Demand Compensation

December 18, 2012: locals of the Madi village in Chitwan have protested against not killing the elephant that had killed four people during the last few days. The locals wanted the police killed the elephant but the police had been taking it easy.

The locals also wanted the government to pay the families of the victims of the killer elephant pay one million rupees per each of the victims as compensation for the loss of the loved ones.

According to Nepalnews.com, the Chitwan police has assigned the Nepal Army to track down the elephant and capture it alive, and advised the locals to stay safe, as the elephant might get hurt in the course of capturing it and go on a rampage further damaging the local people.

The locals wanted the police to kill the elephant but the police had not done so. The locals protested against the police not taking immediate actions against he elephant, and endangering the lives of the locals from the elephant.
