Presenting Budget For FY 2012

July 5, 2012: speaking at an interaction event held by the Reporters Club in Kathmandu today, Vice-chairman of National Planning Commission Dipendra Chhetri has said that the government is planning to announce full budget of Rs 439 billion for the FY 2012. Vice-chairman Chhetri said, "The government is preparing to bring the full budget of Rs 439 billion which includes Rs 10 billion for election expenses." He said the budget amount has grown because of the Rs 10 billion earmarked for the election to a new CA and Rs 3 billion set it aside for the rehabilitation of former Maoist combatants, according to nepalnews.com
At the same time, President of NC Sushil Koirala has rushed to the official residence of President Dr. Ram Barayan Yadav to stop the government from presenting the full budget for the FY 2012 through the presidential ordinance, according to ‘The Himalayan Times’ of today.
At the meeting with a delegation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce held at his office in Singha Durbar today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijaya Gacchedar has said that efforts are on presenting a complete budget following a political consensus, and urged the Chamber members to exert continuous pressure on the senior leaders of the three major parties for a complete budget, ‘The Himalayan Times’ quotes Chamber President Suresh Kumar Basnet.
