By KTM Metro Reporter

September 7, 2012: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said that delisting Maoists from the list of terrorists has cleared doubts about the Maoists' commitment to peace and democracy, and the path of peace, democracy and constitution the Maoists have adopted proved right, writes Deccan herald

"We welcome the decision of the US government to remove the terrorist tag from our party and we hope that our relations with the United States will move forward in a positive direction," Deccan herald quotes Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha as saying.

The US State Department yesterday in a statement said that the US removed the Nepalese Maoists from the list of terrorists in view of their engagement to peace, however, it added that it did not mean that the US was ignoring their past history.
