CC Of UCPN-Maoist Unanimously Passes Three-point Manifesto Of Prachanda

Issue 31, July 31, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

July 26, 2011: the Central Committee (CC) of UCPN-Maoist yesterday has unanimously passed the three-point manifesto presented by the Chairman of party Prachanda with minor language brush up on the document, spokesman for UCPN-Maoist Dinanath Sharma has told the reporters. The three points are (1) peace, constitution and government, (2) Constitution crafting, and (3) immediate plan and program.

The passing of the manifesto has been in limbo for several weeks because of the power struggle developed among the vice-chairmen and Prahanda. After agreeing to shed several authorities Prachanda has and after formulating the offices of vice-chairmen and other senior leaders, the CC of UCPN-Maoist has passed the manifesto. It will pave the way for expediting the army integration and completing the peace process and the crafting of the new constitution.

Chairman Prachanda has proposed in his manifesto to launch a movement against the counter revolutionaries and status quo people without falling in the trap of any sorts of elections and in any other tricks if they try to dissolve the Constituent Assembly and dismiss the current government unconstitutionally.

The CC also has decided to send a new team of ministers headed by vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’ to join the current government headed by Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, and has designated another vice-chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai as the candidate for the prime minister of a new consensus government.
