May 31, 2013: freed Tharu Kamalaries have been protesting against the government’s inaction to the injustice done to the Kamalaries. They have been holding rallies at the western gate of Singhadurbar, and at the peace garden, Tundikhel demanding justice to 12-year old Srijana Chaudhary murdered at the house of Yuvaraj Poudel at Chaku in Lalitpur in 2002, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

According to the mother of the victim, she had sent her daughter to work at the home of Poudel on condition: her daughter would be sent to school but he did not do so rather she was killed after two years of work at the home of Poudel, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today. Kamalaries had submitted memos to the president, vice-president, and chairman of council of ministers Khil Raj Regmi pleading for bringing the perpetrators of the murder of Srijana Chaudharies to justice  but they did not do anything to give justice to the victim, and compensate the family of the victim for the loss of the loved one.

So, even during the peak rice-plantation season, Kamalaries have to come to Kathmandu and hold rallies demanding justice for the victim. However, the State highest-law enforcement officials have not listened to the voices of Kamalaries for justice, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
