Recommendations For Using Nepal Army

September 23, 2013: the interim election council of ministers submitted recommendations to the president for using the Nepal Army for holding the elections to a new constituent assembly on November 19, 2013 in an environment without fear but the president after consulting with the legal experts including the attorney general decided to sent the recommendations back to the chairman of the interim election council of ministers for correction, according to the RSS news in the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
The president is the commander-in-chief of the Nepal Army. However, the president could not use the Nepal Army for the purpose other than dealing with the natural disaster at the peacetime. So, the president sent the recommendations back to the chairman of the interim election council of ministers to correct following the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007.
