Special Preparations Needed For Holding CA Elections
By KTM Metro Reporter
September 27, 2012: while talking to the reporters after the function of laying the foundation stone of a new building for the Election Office at Prativa Chowk-13 in the Morang district yesterday, Acting Chief Commissioner of Election Commission (EC) Nilkantha Upreti said that the EC needed at least 120 days before the day of holding elections for making preparations for the elections, as the elections to the next Constituent Assembly (CA) are of the special type compared to other regular elections, writes RSS/thehimalayantimes.com.
Upreti said that the EC has collected names of 11 million voters, of them three million is out of the country; and 1.2 million people have to register their names at the EC, yet. A few amendments have to be made to the election-related laws and Acts for holding elections to a new CA, said Upreti.
