Madhav Nepal In No Mood to Call Parliamentary Session
By KTM Metro Reporter
November 25, 2010: with the support of leaders of the NC and CPN-UML, officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has recommended the ceremonial President once again to strain the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 discontinuing the parliamentary session and introducing the budget for the fiscal year 2010 (2067) through the presidential order. Now, he is not in a mood to recommend the President to call the parliamentary session because it will shorten his life in office that has been so lucrative for him to print money as much as possible for himself and his arty, too.
On November 23, 2010, House speaker Subash Nemwang has publicly called for starting the parliamentary session without delay for restarting the process for electing a new prime minister and to resolve the political issues through the parliament but Mr. Madhav Nepal has simply ignored his call for recommending the president to call the parliamentary session immediately.
On Thursday, November 25, 2010, speaking at a function held by Nepal Muslim Association in Kathmandu, NC President Sushil Koirala has said that the government needs immediately to make a recommendation to the president to call a parliamentary session and let it function smoothly to elect a new prime minister without any delay. He has said that officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal should not be in office anymore.
Similarly, Parliamentary Party leader of NC Ram Chandra Poudel has also called on Officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal to act immediately on bringing the parliamentary session to life again for continuing the process for electing a new Prime Minister and act on other parliamentary businesses.
However, Mr. Madhav Nepal has not bothered to listen to the NC president and Parliamentary Party leader for calling the parliamentary session for obvious reasons. How long he can resist the pressure put on him to call a parliamentary session remains to be seen. NC leaders have paid the price for supporting Madhav Nepal rejected by the people for the office of Prime Minister. Naturally, he will stick to his office as long he can. This guy has no love for the country but for money and power.
