Honoring National Flag And National Anthem

June 15, 2012: Nepal Gazette: the official news letter of the government has recently published the notice of the Home Ministry stating tearing, burning, throwing, using the national flag for commercial advertisement and over turning it are felonies so subject to punishment, ‘The Himalayan Times’ of June 14, 2012 reports.

However, any person can wear the sticker or print of national flag on his/her body above the waistline using the official flag correctly printing or embroidering.

The government also has made compulsory to play the national anthem at national festivals, formal programs, army gatherings, school assemblies, sports events, and on Radios and on TV at the beginning and the end of airing their programs. Officials including the President and Prime Minister and the audience should stand up and recite the national anthem.  The government has instructed the Radio and Television operators to play the national anthem in the beginning and end of their programs.
