Sending Senior Staffs And Dean Of Purvanchal University To Judicial Custody

December 16, 2011: The Special Court has sent three senior officials of Purvanchal University (PU) including its Dean Ram Kumar Singh to 10-day judicial custody for irregularities in examining the answer papers of the medical exams, Nepalnews.com reports. Two others sent to the judicial custody are associate professor and head of the examination sub-committee Muktiram Bhattarai and lecturer Navin Bhattarai at the PU's College of Medical Sciences in the Morang district

The Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has asked the Special Court to keep them in custody for further investigation into the irregularities in examining answer papers. Corruption is widespread not only in the administration, police and the army but also in schools, too in Nepal.
