Public Offence Case Against State Minister

On November 11, 2009, the security guard of the Parsa District Chief Officer Durga Prasad Bhandari assaulted by Minister of State for Agriculture and Cooperative Karima Begum has registered a public offence case against the State Minister at the District Police Office in the evening. The District police have issued an arrest warrant in the name of the State Minister but she has already left the district before the Police could arrest her. The Police have also informed the Speaker of the legislature concerning the arrest warrant issued in the name of the State Minister.

At the same time, various associations of the employees of the state administration have condemned the assault of the State Minister on the Chief District Officer (CDO), and the entire officials of the administration have stopped working for two hours protesting against the assault of the State Minister on the CDO. Some officials have staged a sit-in rally at the office of the Home Minister on the premises of the State secretariat called Singhadurbar in Kathmandu in protest against the assault of the State Minister on the CDO, and demanded strong actions against the minister and the public apology of the government for the assault in the memorandum submitted to the offices of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.
