Promoting Identity, Language, Literature, Culture Of Every Community

October 10, 2013: speaking at the opening event of the International Symposium on Nepali Literature jointly held by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) and Nepal Academy inBirgunj yesterday, Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khilraj Regmi has stressed the need for promoting identity, language, literature and culture of every national community, according to the RSS news posted on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
“Existing plurality in our country and unity within such plurality is an important base for our identity, and promoting Nepali language, literature and culture on the same basis is the need of the hour," he said.
Chairman Regmi has said that literature is taken as a lively genre in the ocean of culture.
Chairman Regmi urged the NRNs to play a supportive role in making the November 19 Constituent Assembly (CA) election successful. The seminar would play an important role in promoting Nepalese identity at the international arena, he added.
NRNA President Jiba Lamichhane has said that they are actively working to popularize the Nepali art and culture across the world.
On the occasion, Association President Lamichhane and the Academy Chancellor Kainla signed an agreement on the establishment of a literature fund and for holding such seminars in the days ahead, among others.
