By KTM Metro Reporter

February 15, 2012: Nepalese Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai is to open the Global Bihar Summit of 2012 in Patna on February 17, 2012 according to the news posted on IBNLive.com. Prime Minister Bhattarai will lead 17-member team to Bihar to participate in the three-day summit. About 1,000 delegates are expected to participate in the summit.

Bihar Foundation, Institute for Human Development and Asian Development Research Institute are jointly holding this summit. The main objective of the summit is to explore the potential areas of development in Bihar.

Indian state Bihar is bordering with Nepal. So, anything happening in Bihar is directly or indirectly affecting Nepal. It is natural that Nepal is taking keen interest in this summit. Prime Minister Bhattarai is the right person to open this summit.

Bihar had been the most developed state at the time when the British left India but during the last 60 years most of other Indian states have made tremendous progress in various sectors but Bihar lagged far behind due to the corruption and malpractices in the state administration.
