Ethic Groups Burn Draft Constitution
By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
On November 22, 2009, ethnic people burned the draft constitution prepared by the Committee on Fundamental Rights at International Conventional Hall Baneswore in Kathmandu stating the 570-page long draft has not addressed the concerns of the ethnic people.
On November 23, 2009, speaking to the state-run Radio Nepal, one of the members of the Committee on Fundamental Rights has said that out of the 44 members of the committee 30 members have insisted on addressing the concerns of the ethnic people but 14 of them overruled the 30 members indicating the minority still rules the committee.
So, the ethnic people have to take the issues of their concerns to the street.
