Drug Traffickers Using Children In Bhairahawa

September 21, 2013: drug traffickers have been using children of an age group of ten and higher as drug carriers in Bhairahawa. A police team deployed by the Drugs Abuse Control Bureau of the Department Office Bhairahawa recently arrested a child with drugs from Siddharthanagar ward number-one, according to the news posted on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’

 

Rupendehi police head Bikram Singh Thapa said, “These days’ drug smugglers are finding college kids as effective tool to carry on their business.” Thapa said that drugs smuggling has gained moment across the district despite the relentless efforts made by the police to stop it.

 

The police arrested ten-year-old Manoj Pariyar of Tanahu with drugs worth of Rs 1, 500,000. After an interrogation, the police found out that the smugglers had given him 10,000 rupees for the drug. Pariyar was found hiding drugs all over his body.

 

The police informed that the peddlers lured the child into carrying drug. Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha informed that Pariyar is now staying at childcare center and would be punished according to the law.
