Issue 48, November 30, 2008

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On the night of Wednesday, November 26, 2008, a group of terrorists probably traveling on a boat “Motora” took swift boats when they reached the Mumbai sea-shore and then took several taxis most probably prepared for taking the terrorists various destinations to attack simultaneously on all the targets they had set.

The terrorists have simultaneously assaulted on several targets such as Taj Mahal and Oberai hotels, Leopold restaurant, railway station, a hospital and the Jewish neighborhood.  In the skirmishes with the terrorists fourteen Indian police including the chief of the anti-terrorist police died. Altogether 125 people including six foreigners have lost their lives. The terrorists used automatic weapons and fired indiscriminately at the crowds and threw grenades.

The mobile phones recovered from the terrorists have showed that they have talked to Karachi in Pakistan before and after the assault on various places in Mumbai.

Most of the international leaders including the Nepalese President and Prime Minister condemned the terrorists’ attack on Mumbai killing many innocent people, and shown their solidarity with the Indian Government and the people to fight against terrorism.
